Rauenhorst Recruiting Delivers
My name is James Nesius and I am the Chairman of the Board at Wells Concrete Products Company, Wells, Minnesota. We are a closely held, independent company. Our primary product line is precast, pre-stressed concrete. We have a substantial ready mix division. A few years ago we were faced with a very challenging situation. The founder and leader of the company for almost fifty years was in very poor health, the president of the company was retiring, the head accountant was retiring and the head of the ready mix division was also retiring. In addition to all that, we had a new, inexperienced chief engineer. Despite all these changes, business was good and the company was growing; so much so that remaining management all agreed that we could not just replace peg for peg. We had to find new leadership that would take into account past growth and allow for future growth. We did not have an internal candidate for president and nobody in house was qualified to take on the expanded role of controller
After a bit of floundering around, we decided to engage a search firm to find a president, but to try and find the controller on our own. We solicited letters of engagement from several firms and selected Rauenhorst Recruiting based on what we could find out on the street. They sent people out to Wells and did a thorough investigation as to the needs of our company. The man we eventually hired as president has worked out for us very well. He is a strong leader and has shown the visionary ability that we were looking for. Our luck on finding our own controller was not so good and the only good outcome was that we hired nobody rather than hire the wrong person. Once again, we turned to Rauenhorst Recruiting and not too long thereafter we had our man. He is now the CFO of our company. He has truly helped us through challenging situations in the last year and his knowledge and advise have proven invaluable to the company. Largely as a result of the leadership and knowledge of these two men, we have not only been able to proceed through this very challenging time without tripping, but have experienced continued profitability and growth. It could have turned out a very differently. Rauenhorst Recruiting delivered the goods.
“With the recent departure by a key member of our sales staff, we were suddenly in need of someone to fill that role - and quickly. Steve Bolster and Rauenhorst Recruiting understood our needs perfectly and were able to find candidates with the skill sets required from several industries and ultimately we were able to fill the position in a timely manner. Tonka has enjoyed your professional approach and our relationship over the years with Rauenhorst Recruiting has provided us with quality candidates to fill key roles within our organization.”
“The Rauenhorst Company took the appropriate amount of time to understand the philosophy, vision and needs of SR Construction. Only candidates that 'fit' the organization in terms of values, ethics and skill set were presented, allowing us to invest our time more efficiently elsewhere. The personal attention, commitment and professionalism shared by Doreen and the Rauenhorst Company provided a refreshing and positive experience in filling in some of the empty seats on our bus.”
“A very good experience – Rauenhorst did a good job getting us through the process and got us, good, qualified people and we’ve had success with the people they brought us.”
“Rauenhorst was a different experience for me for an executive recruiter. Most I have seen are pushy, and really have a hard sell edge. Rauenhorst is strategic, and very focused on the process and the end objectives. They are smart and have a soft sell approach. It was a refreshing change.”
“A real positive experience with great people that stay focused on the process and getting the result you need – no matter what the situation.”
“It was clear that we really wanted a President to fit our culture. Rauenhorst did so much to guide us in the right direction. I think the care Rauenhorst took with interviewing people and helping us find the person that fit our culture is what we truly wanted.”
